Drew McIntyre got to celebrate his WWE Championship win surrounded by some people close to his heart.
New Undisputed WWE Champion Drew McIntyre appeared on Heart Breakfast Scotland with Des Clarke, Adele, and Grado. During the conversation, McIntyre revealed how he planned to celebrate his title win in Scotland. WWE was in Glasgow for a live event the night after McIntyre won the title from Cody Rhodes on SmackDown in Berlin, Germany.
Adele Cunningham: “So tonight, all your family and friends from Ayrshire, are they all going to be there supporting you?”
Drew McIntyre: “Pretty much. Everyone’s coming. Everyone else is trying to come as well that I’ve not spoken about 20 years! That’s part of it, but we’re sold out. And yeah, I can’t wait to look into the crowd, see the family, see my friends, see my countrymen and women, and I guarantee when I walk out there, it’s the first time I’ll go, ‘Holy c***, WWE Champion!’ And I’ll probably come out crying as well. My dad will be in the crowd crying, I’ll probably be crying during my entrance. Everyone will have a big greet together, and then we’ll have some Bucky to celebrate!”
Grado: “Haha! That sounds like a good night out! You’re back in Glasgow, what’s the first meal that you go for, or a drink, when you land back on your home soil? What’s the thing that you cannot wait to get torn into?”
Drew McIntyre: “Irn-Bru, because I know there’s going to be fans at the airport and they’re just going to give me tonnes of Irn-Bru, so I never have to pay for it!”
Drew McIntyre defended his title against Shinsuke Nakamura at WWE’s Road To Royal Rumble live event at the OVO Hydro in Glasgow on Saturday. McIntyre also beat Nakamura on Sunday night in Copenhagen, Denmark, where he also trolled CM Punk over his physique.
