Jake Something gets repackaged in AEW.
Former TNA star Jake Something made his All Elite Wrestling debut during Dynamite’s taping in Tulsa last night. The powerhouse appeared in a backstage segment before the show, revealing himself as the newest member of The Don Callis Family.
Something was given a new name on AEW television, as Don Callis referred to him as Jake Doyle during a backstage interview with Renee Paquette. The ring name is closer to Jake’s real name, Jacob Doyle.
Before the show, Jake Doyle and Mark Davis attacked JetSpeed’s Kevin Knight and “Speedball” Mike Bailey, leaving “Jungle” Jack Perry without his partners for the scheduled trios tag team match against The Demand (Ricochet, Bishop Kaun, and Toa Liona).
Although Perry initially made his entrance alone, he was soon joined by the returning Young Bucks, Matt and Nick Jackson, to face Ricochet and the Gates of Agony in the trios bout on AEW Dynamite.
The finish saw the Bucks connect with a V-Trigger before Jack Perry sealed the victory with a running knee strike. After the match, Matt and Nick Jackson were attacked by Mark Davis and Jake Doyle inside the ring until JetSpeed ran in to make the save. However, the lights went out and returned to reveal a returning Andrade El Idolo as The Don Callis Family stood tall.
Jake Something previously competed in TNA Wrestling from 2017 to 2022 before returning to the company in 2023. He made his in-ring return at Slammiversary, where he competed in an Ultimate X match won by KUSHIDA.
