Matt Hardy Explains Why Chris Jericho Could Appear in TNA in 2026

TNA star Matt Hardy explains why he feels Chris Jericho’s next chapter may take him to TNA.

Speaking on the latest episode of The Extreme Life of Matt Hardy, Hardy addressed reports linking Jericho to a possible WWE return. While he didn’t rule that out, Hardy suggested Jericho’s time in AEW appears to be winding down.

“I just think he’s at that point where his run as feels kind of done in AEW for better or worse, and it just kind of is what it is. Chris has always been really good at knowing when it’s time to go somewhere else and, like, freshen up, put a new, fresh coat of paint on, and I think he’s willing to do that.”

Matt Hardy said that even if Jericho returns to WWE, it would likely be a short-term deal. He added that Jericho could still feel like a major star if WWE uses him the right way. The company could likely use him as a special attraction.

He also suggested that Jericho could have meaningful matches and even mentioned Bron Breakker as a potential WrestleMania opponent. He strongly believes TNA could be part of Jericho’s future, especially with WWE and TNA now having a working relationship.

He pointed out that Jericho has never wrestled for TNA, making it an appealing new challenge. “If he felt like he could show up on TNA and do something, just a small appearance of sorts, that would help the company and also be boosted, because TNA and WWE or partners know they have a working relationship, I think it’s something he would go for.” [H/T: wrestlingnews.co]
