Top WWE Star Reacts to John Cena Submitting in His Final Match

Seth Rollins has mixed feelings about John Cena submitting in his final WWE match, a moment that shocked fans around the world.

Cena officially ended his in-ring career last weekend at WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event, where he went one-on-one with Gunther. He fought hard throughout the match but eventually lost after Gunther locked in a rear-naked choke. Cena resisted for several seconds before tapping out with a smile, bringing an end to his Hall of Fame career.

The moment stood out because Cena had not tapped out in decades. Known for his “Never Give Up” attitude, seeing him submit in his final match caused debate among fans and wrestling legends, with many sharing strong opinions.

Former WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins shared his thoughts on the decision. While appearing on the Ross Tucker Podcast alongside Becky Lynch, Rollins explained how he viewed Cena’s final moments.

“I don’t know, I have so many mixed feelings on it,” Rollins said. John is one of the greatest of all time, his whole thing is never give up, but it didn’t feel like he was- people were all over him for giving up, but it didn’t feel like he was giving up.”

He explained that, in his view, the moment felt more symbolic than controversial, “It felt like he was fading off into the sunset, like he had done his job, was happy to do it, and was handing the ball off.”

He added, “That’s sort of how I felt about it, and I might be in the minority about that, but at the end of the day he smiled before he did it, so there’s something poetic to that. I dunno, I love John, it’s hard for me to second guess anything he does.” [H/T: Wrestletalk]
