WWE Star Really Enjoys Hate Watching Gunther

A WWE star explains how fun it is to hate-watch Gunther.

Former two-time World Heavyweight Champion Gunther defeated John Cena in his retirement match at WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event this past weekend, becoming the first wrestler in over two decades to make the Never Seen 17 tap out. He walked out to nuclear heat from the crowd on this week’s episode of WWE RAW, and has seemingly set up a feud with AJ Styles.

Speaking on Raw Recap, WWE backstage interviewer discussed Gunther’s victory against John Cena with Megan Morant and Sam Roberts, saying she didn’t like the outcome of the match despite understanding why Cena tapped out. Now, reacting to a post on X/Twitter, Jackie Redmond noted that hate-watching Gunther on RAW was some of the most fun she had as a wrestling fan.

“Not liking something is half the fun of being a wrestling fan. Hate watching Gunther last night was some of the most fun I’ve ever had as a wrestling fan. Full stop.”

Jackie Redmond Said Her Interview With Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes Was Unplanned

Following John Cena’s retirement match, Jackie Redmond interviewed Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes during the Saturday Night’s Main Event Post-Show.

Speaking on the same episode of Raw Recap, Redmond revealed that the entire interview was unscripted and that Cody Rhodes showed raw emotion in his emotional speech.

“Yeah, it was very raw (Cody Rhodes’ speech). All of the credit in the world to Cody Rhodes for not just agreeing to do the interview on the spot, and I promise you, WWE Universe, I did approach him without any, like, he had no heads up that that was gonna happen.

“So, all the credit to Cody for being open to that, but also for being so real about his emotions. He was crying, he had tears, and for me, because I’ve done this wrong in the past in my career. It was one of those moments where once I ask the questions, I was just gonna let Cody go as long as he wanted to go, say everything he wanted to say. I’m not gonna ask a follow-up question until it’s very clear that you’ve emptied the emotional tank,” the WWE interviewer said.
