John Cena has some interesting easter eggs in his retirement match uniform.
Ahead of his retirement match tomorrow at Saturday Night’s Main Event, 17-time WWE Champion John Cena appeared on the Pat McAfee Show. During the conversation, Cena revealed that he has some ‘selfish’ easter eggs printed on his retirement match uniform.
‘Never Give Up’ and ‘Hustle, Loyalty, and Respect’ have been John Cena’s core principles throughout his life and wrestling career. He noted that even though he has evolved as a person throughout the years, these core values remain unchanged. So, he had them printed on both sleeves of his t-shirt with explanations in his own words on what they mean to him.
“I told you there were easter eggs on the shirt,” John Cena began. “This is ‘Never Give Up’ (pointing to the left sleeve), in my words, on what that means to me. I’m giving you all a spoiler. This is ‘Hustle, Loyalty, and Respect,’ (printed on the right sleeve), and in my words, on what that means to me.
John Cena’s Core Values Haven’t Faltered Even After Two Decades
“So, those essentially are core pillars or core values of my life. They haven’t really faltered over 23 years. I wasn’t the same person I am yesterday. I’m certainly not the same person I was in 2004, 2010. We evolve, we grow. My core values of persistence, hard work, seeking longing connection, and respect for those who have given the opportunity and respect for the room around you, that has not faltered.
“So, for me to be able to sneak that in on the final final, which is also a nice piece of inside baseball to those who get it, Michael Cole would get it. Like I said, there’s a ton of easter eggs on this, but a lot of them were selfish. So, I took some real estate for me on this,” John Cena said.
