Gunther has issued a strong warning to John Cena ahead of facing him in the final match of Cena’s legendary WWE career.
On WWE SmackDown, Gunther defeated LA Knight in the finals of the Last Time Is Now tournament. Both men fought hard for the right to challenge Cena in his farewell bout. In the end it was Gunther who forced Knight to submit, officially earning the spot.
Cena reacted to Gunther’s win on X, writing that it was an honor to face someone he respects and promising to bring his best for One Last Match. He wrote, “The stage is set for One Last Match. On a night of epic proportions, it is an honor to face off against an opponent who I respect and who has earned the right to issue this final challenge! I will bring my best, I know he will do the same! Don’t miss the Final Time! #SNME @peacock”
Gunther has now delivered a message to John Cena. He posted a video on Instagram with the caption, “The only deserving one.” In the clip, he looked straight into the camera and warned Cena, saying, “John, did you see that? I told you to pay attention. At Saturday Night’s Main Event, my friend, you will give up. You’ll tap, you will give up for good.”
John Cena will face Gunther in his final match this weekend at WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event, taking place at the Capital One Arena in Washington, D.C. The show will showcase today’s WWE stars battling the next generation with Bayley facing Sol Ruca and Cody Rhodes facing Oba Femi in exhibition matches.
