A Shocking Return Closes WWE NXT Deadline

The end of tonight’s NXT Deadline featured a shocking return, as Tony D’Angelo arrived to stun the world of NXT.

Following the 2025 men’s Iron Survivor Challenge, which saw Je’Von Evans emerge victorious, Oba Femi made his way out to the ramp, wearing his newly won NXT World Championship, staring down his future opponent.

However, as Evans began yelling toward Femi, a video began playing. The video showed a man walking on a bridge, with his face covered by the glare. Neither superstar knew what was happening, but when cameras cut back to the ring, Tony D’Angelo was in the ring behind Evans. Evans looked shocked, but then went for a handshake when he realized it was D’Angelo.

D’Angelo wasn’t here for friendship, though, and promptly dropped Evans to the ring. A shocked Femi watched as D’Angelo then stared down the NXT World Champion as the show ended. For D’Angelo, this was his first appearance since July, when he was seen in a video being approached by a mysterious group in a restaurant.

D’Angelo has defeated Femi on two separate occasions. So it appears the new champions’ rule over NXT is very much in doubt.
