CM Punk continues to acquire new film roles as he branches out from pro wrestling.
Deadline is reporting that CM Punk has joined the cast of a new Netflix romantic comedy based on the Katherine Center novel The Bodyguard. Leighton Meester and Jared Padalecki headline the project, about a “no-nonsense bodyguard is assigned to protect a charming action star over the holidays, leading sparks to fly and secrets to unravel, with Christmas getting a whole lot more complicated.”
Deadline reports that Punk will play the role of Doghouse. The character is described as a ”physically intimidating member of the security detail, who is known for his loyalty and humor.” More specific details, including the plot of the film and how accurately it follows the novel, could not be confirmed.
In addition to his current reign as WWE World Heavyweight Champion, CM Punk can also be heard as the voice of Zebro Zebrowski in Zootopia 2. Punk also has another film, Night Patrol, set to release in theatres on January 16, 2026.
CM Punk headlined Survivor Series: WarGames last weekend, competing in the titular WarGames cage match. He will defend his championship against Bron Breakker on the January 5, 2026 episode of WWE RAW.
