It sounds like two AEW stars working hurt only made their issues worse and will cause them to miss an extended amount of time.
Earlier this week, it was announced that due to a knee injury, RUSH would no longer challenge Bandido for the Ring of Honor World Championship at Final Battle. But we now know that RUSH’s knee injury is a lot more serious than initially believed.
On a recent episode of Wrestling Observer Live, Bryan Alvarez revealed a lot more information on RUSH’s knee injury and how his insistence on not taking time off will likely result in him needing surgery.
“We are told RUSH has been working with a bad knee for years. But because he wanted opportunities on Collision and Dynamite, he didn’t want to take time off,” Bryan Alvarez said. “Working through it made it worse, and as Tony Khan noted in a media call this week, he’s off the Ring of Honor Final Battle show and almost certainly needs surgery.
“He will be evaluated in the next week or so and almost certainly undergo surgery. It is believed he had knee surgery previously in Mexico, but it was messed up and didn’t solve the problem.”
Due to RUSH’s injury, the Ring of Honor World Tag Team Titles are once again vacant. They will be decided at Final Battle as Sammy Guevara and The Beast Mortos will face Tommy Billington and Adam Priest.
LFI is banged up heading into ROH Final Battle
Not only is RUSH sidelined with an injury. But another member of LFI, Dralistico, is also injured and will need surgery to correct an ear injury.
“Dralistico suffered injuries to his ear in two different matches,” Bryan Alvarez said. “He also worked through it since he was hoping to get regular work on the main roster. But eventually it became too painful, and he was told he’d need surgery to fix it. He’s either already undergone surgery or will undergo surgery shortly.” [H/T: WrestlingNews.co]
