A new report says Anna Jay’s AEW contract is set to expire in the next few months.
According to Fightful Select, many within the company believe Anna Jay’s deal is coming up soon, and AEW is expected to try to re-sign her. However, there’s no confirmation yet on whether negotiations have started.
However, the report adds that Anna Jay enjoys teaming with Tay Melo as part of TayJay. But she’s also open to making whatever career move is best for her, including testing free agency. Anna Jay signed with AEW in April 2020 and has been a consistent part of the roster ever since.
Over the last five years, she has wrestled regularly on both AEW and ROH shows. Her most memorable run was with the Dark Order under the leadership of late AEW star Brodie Lee. She was even part of the Jericho Appreciation Society.
Despite Anna Jay’s frequent TV presence, she still hasn’t won a championship in AEW. Over the past five years, she has been featured in many matches, but she is currently competing in the tag team division with Tay Melo.
Their most recent match took place on AEW Dynamite, where they faced Megan Bayne and Marina Shafir in the AEW Women’s Tag Team Championship Tournament. Unfortunately, they suffered a loss in the first round. Following the defeat, fans showed support for Anna Jay online, and she replied to the fans on X, formerly known as Twitter, with a single heart emoji.
