Ric Flair Apologizes For Leaving AEW Taping Early

Ric Flair was happy to be at last week’s AEW taping, despite needing to leave early.

Flair and Ricky Steamboat were advertised to appear on the AEW Dynamite: Blood and Guts television special. However, Flair didn’t appear on camera.

According to a report from F4WOnline.com’s Dave Meltzer, Flair addressed the live audience in Greensboro before Dynamite went on the air. He ultimately left the building due to being in “a ton of pain” from a recently torn rotator cuff. Steamboat still appeared on television in a segment that saw him reflect on his history in Greensboro before Bandido and Brody King saved him from an attack by FTR. It was believed that Flair was supposed to be part of the segment with Steamboat.

Flair has since commented on leaving the taping, issuing an apology for his abrupt departure. He says he hopes to be invited back once he’s healed, and would never disappoint his fans intentionally.

“I want to apologize to everyone for having to leave the @AEW show early last Wednesday due to my rotator cuff injury. I appreciate @tonykhan giving me the opportunity to be on the show,” Flair wrote on Twitter/X. “It was nice catching up with all the great talent and Ricky Steamboat. I look forward to being invited again. After I have my shoulder healed up, I will be back up & running. I just want you all to know that I would never disappoint you intentionally.”

Flair did not share when or how he tore his rotator cuff.
