WWE Men’s Speed Championship Changes Hands On NXT

WWE NXT crowned a new Men’s Speed Champion this week as Jasper Troy defeated El Grande Americano.

A few months ago, El Grande Americano, originally played by Chad Gable, first won the WWE Speed Championship by beating Dragon Lee. After Gable suffered an injury at Money in the Bank, Ludwig Kaiser took over the El Grande Americano persona and continued to defend the title in the absence of Gable.

After the Men’s and Women’s Speed Championships officially moved to WWE NXT, a tournament took place to decide El Grande Americano’s next challenger. WWE LFG Season 1 winner Jasper Troy won the tournament and earned a title shot.

On this week’s episode of WWE NXT, El Grande Americano defended the Men’s Speed title against Jasper Troy, with Rayo and Bravo by his side. The match was full of fast-paced action, however, Troy tried to use a chain, but Rayo and Bravo stopped him.

The referee caught Rayo and Bravo holding the chain and sent them backstage. Taking advantage, El Grande Americano hit a suicide dive and tried to hide something in his gear that Rayo had given him, and then hit a flying head butt to Troy in the ring.

El Grande Americano tried to sneak a metal plate into his mask, but the referee caught him in the act. The distraction gave Jasper Troy the opening he needed to hit a corner splash and follow it up with a powerful Black Hole Slam for the win.
