John Cena Reflects On Final WWE Appearance In Boston

John Cena had a very memorable night in Boston this week on WWE RAW.

While many assumed for most of the past year that John Cena would end his WWE career in Boston at Saturday Night’s Main Event, a higher bidder in Washington, DC emerged to secure the last match of the first ballot WWE Hall of Famer.

This change resulted in Boston getting an episode of WWE RAW this week instead of Saturday Night’s Main Event next month. And while Cena will likely lose his final match in DC, Boston got to see Cena leave the TD Garden last night on top as the new Intercontinental Champion.

John Cena took to social media this afternoon to thank Boston for all the support they’ve given him throughout his career, tweeting out:

“Thank you Boston. It meant so much to be able, for one last time, to be allowed an opportunity to do what I love, in a place I love, surrounded by those I love. Our performances are only meaningful if YOU the audience invest in us and decide they are. The smile on my face and awe in my eyes in this small clip is an honest show of grateful disbelief & appreciation for all you’ve ever invested in me. Last night meant more than I can ever express. Thank you Boston,” John Cena said in a post.

Only three dates remain in John Cena’s legendary WWE career

With last night’s episode of WWE RAW officially in the books, the hourglass is quickly running out on John Cena’s legendary career.

These are the final scheduled dates of Cena’s WWE retirement tour:

  • RAW in New York City — November 17
  • Survivor Series in San Diego, CA — November 29
  • Retirement Match at Saturday Night’s Main Event in Washington, DC — December 13
