John Cena Reacts To Stipulation To Determine His Final Opponent

John Cena is ready to make the most of an opportunity again.

Cena will retire from in-ring competition at the next edition of WWE’s Saturday Night’s Main Event on December 13. Fans have speculated for months about who Cena’s final opponent would be. WWE still has not announced who that person will be, but they finally announced how the opponent will be determined.

WWE announced that the November 10 episode of RAW would mark the start of its The Last Time is Now Tournament. The tournament winner will face off against Cena in his final match. The tournament will feature competitors from RAW, SmackDown, NXT, and, in a surprise twist, people outside of WWE.

Cena recently reacted to the news about the tournament, saying he wants to “repay the favor” of making an opportunity for someone.

“For over two decades, I have tried to make the most of every opportunity I’ve been presented. On December 13th, I’d like to repay the favor,” Cena wrote on Twitter/X. “The Last Time is Now Tournament begins next Monday in Boston!”

WWE has not announced any of the participants in the tournament yet. Gunther and Dominik Mysterio have been in the mix as potential opponents, and outside names like Joe Hendry and Matt Cardona have also shown interest. The tournament has also drawn interest from Bayley, who asked if WWE would allow women to be in the tournament.
