Mercedes Moné Targeted By Former Rival

Mercedes Moné has become the target of one of her old rivals.

Momo Watanabe, who’s currently a part of World Wonder Ring Stardom, has competed in two matches against Mercedes Moné. Their first encounter took place at NJPW Capital Collision 2024, where she unsuccessfully challenged Moné for the Strong Women’s Championship. They collided once again at AEW Revolution 2025 for the TBS Championship, but Watanabe once again failed to defeat The CEO.

Momo Watanabe is now set to challenge Saya Kamitani for both the World of Stardom and NJPW Strong Women’s Championships at the upcoming Stardom Crimson Nightmare event on November 3. Speaking to Tokyo Sports, Watanabe made her intentions clear that once she defeats Kamitani to become a double champion, she is coming after Mercedes Moné once again.

“Kamitani says STRONG is just for show, but that purple belt is cute. I will defend both belts all over the world. Also, that belt is strongly associated with Mercedes Moné, so I want to beat that belt collector for the belt. I don’t mind being busy.”

Tommy Dreamer Believes Mercedes Moné Should Relinquish Her Other Titles After She Wins The AEW Women’s World Championship

Speaking on the Busted Open podcast, Tommy Dreamer stated that Mercedes Moné should defeat Kris Statlander for the AEW Women’s World Championship at AEW Full Gear next month.

He further stated that after she wins the title, Mercedes Moné should relinquish her other 12 championships, just to generate more heat from the fans.

“I would have Mercedes win,” Tommy Dreamer began. “And just to be a bigger douche, vacate every title. Which then goes to [her saying], I’m not putting everybody over, but due to my hectic schedule, make her a bigger heel.

“I’m only acknowledging this title, almost like everything you did was a stepping stone to get to what you wanted. But then vacate every other title you have because this is the most meaningful. Which then also puts that light in that title for being the biggest one.” [H/T: Wrestling Inc.]
