Matt Hardy believes Chris Jericho should return to WWE, as he feels the timing is perfect for the AEW star to return.
Speaking on The Extreme Life of Matt Hardy, Hardy shared his thoughts on Jericho’s future and praised his friend for everything he has done for the wrestling business. “I mean, first off, I’ll start by saying I love Chris Jericho. I think Chris has contributed so so much to the business over the years.”
He believes Jericho has given fans plenty of great moments there and might be ready for a fresh start, “I almost think it’s one of those things where I just think the AEW fan base has had their share of Chris Jericho in many, many ways. And I think creatively, he’s done pretty much everything he can do there.”
Hardy noted that has always been smart about knowing when to step away and come back stronger. “Chris has always been really good at understanding when it’s time to go away or take time off and come back and recharge or refresh.”
He added a WWE return, especially as a surprise in the Royal Rumble, would be a huge moment. “I feel like if he came back to WWE, it’d be a huge moment, especially in a Royal Rumble, whatever, wherever that appearance would be, it would be massive.”
He also thinks AEW star could have one final run in WWE before retiring, similar to what John Cena is currently doing. “And then I feel like there would be a good a good run he could do, even if it is his last run and he retires at the end of it, like Cena did.” [H/T: wrestlingnews.co]
