Jamie Hayter Reacts To Comparisons To Scooby-Doo’s Daphne Blake

Jamie Hayter is having some fun with being compared to an iconic animated character.

Hayter recently spoke with WrestleZone Managing Editor Bill Pritchard about the “retro” look she debuted upon returning from injury at All In 2024. She previously wore dark hair and ring gear, but Hayter came back sporting red hair and a retro vibe.

Hayter explained that she felt like she didn’t have her own style before then and needed to do something to stand out. She also praised AEW for allowing her to be more authentic and experiment with her personal style.

The red hair and retro clothes also caused Jamie Hayter to be compared to Daphne Blake, one of the main characters from Hanna-Barbera’s Scooby-Doo franchise. Hayter took things a step further by paying homage to the character on the Fright Night episode of AEW Dynamite in 2024.

Hayter said that the purple shirt, lime green scarf and floral pants were all things she had in her wardrobe already. With that in mind, she decided to have some fun with the fans’ feedback.

“Yeah, I just so happened to have those things in my closet. I was like, ‘You know, it is Halloween…’ I’m not one to really dress up or things like that. But I just [thought] people keep saying it, so I had those things and I was like, ‘This is perfect.’ It’s my own version of Daphne.”

Jamie Hayter defeated Thekla at AEW WrestleDream last weekend. Prior to the event, she issued a challenge to compete in a Blood & Guts match. The match will take place on November 12, but AEW has not confirmed the participants in the match yet. However, Tony Khan recently addressed the likelihood that a men’s and women’s match takes place this year.
