Former WWE Ring Announcer Samantha Irvin might’ve hinted that she’s honoring an extremely lengthy non-compete clause.
Samantha Irvin made a name for herself in WWE with her unique and energetic style of ring announcing. However, she left the company in October 2024. Irvin took to X/Twitter earlier today, quoting a fan’s post that pointed out it’s been over a year since she left WWE.
Samantha Irvin mentioned in the tweet that she still has one more year left in her non-compete clause, hinting that WWE hit her with a two-year non-compete clause following her exit, instead of the usual 90 days.
“One year down, one year left on my non-compete! Can’t wait, I hope you enjoy my songs in the meantime and look back on all the memories as fondly as I do! Love & miss you all, and remember- I NEVER left FOR music, I am music. Hope to see you soon.”
Recent reports claimed that WWE and TKO have made updates to their contract structure, implementing a one-year non-compete clause if a talent gets fired. However, Samantha Irvin’s statement has raised more questions about how WWE contracts actually work.
Ricochet Recently Discussed The Possibility Of Samantha Irvin In AEW
Samantha Irvin’s husband and current AEW star Ricochet recently discussed the possibility of the former WWE Ring Announcer signing with All Elite Wrestling.
Speaking on The Ariel Helwani Show, Ricochet stated that Samantha Irvin would probably consider joining AEW, and she was already thinking about leaving WWE months before his own departure from the company in June 2024.
“She probably would consider it, for sure, but I think right now she….she honestly was thinking about leaving and letting it be known for a little bit that she wanted to leave before I was even, six or seven months before I was (leaving), she was already thinking about it.
