WWE NXT Star Je’von Evans Opens Up About Potential Main Roster Call-Up

Je’Von Evans is a rising star in WWE NXT, but he is unsure if he is ready for the main roster.

The 21-year-old has been creating a lot of buzz on the black-and-gold brand and has already made a few appearances on WWE’s main shows. He first appeared on SmackDown in May, teaming with Rey Fenix against Los Garza.

A few weeks ago, he returned on SmackDown to answer Sami Zayn’s United States Title open challenge. Evans teamed again with Rey Fenix against Los Garza the following week. He continues to make an impression on the main roster and shows strong potential. However, the stars wants to accomplish more in NXT before coming to main roster.

During an interview with the Black Rasslin’ Podcast, Evans discussed the possibility of a main roster call-up. He admitted, “Honestly I’m not sure. I feel like I can accomplish so much more. There was talks but I was just like, to this day I don’t know if I’m ready. And maybe that’s self doubt a little bit or me being nervous. But I just know that Triple H, Nick Aldis, they know what they’re doing. Shawn knows what he’s doing. So if they see something and they feel I’m ready then let’s catch the football and run with it.”

He aims to gain experience in NXT to ensure a smooth transition to main roster and compete with top talent immediately. “I think that I just want to learn as much as I can in NXT. My main goal is being the best ever in wrestling. So I feel like in NXT that’s where it starts. So I wanna learn as much as I can in NXT so by the time I get to Raw or SmackDown it’s an easy transition, I know what I know and I’m automatically up there with the top dogs and prove myself that I can hang with the top dogs.” [H/T: Wrestletalk]
