Chris Jericho is once again leaving his wrestling future open for debate.
The pro wrestling legend recently marked the 35th anniversary of his in-ring debut. Jericho first stepped into the ring against fellow Canadian Lance Storm at the Ponoka Moose Hall in Alberta, Canada, in 1990.
A few days ago, Jericho reminisced about his debut on social media while implying that his pro wrestling career isn’t over. The former AEW World Champion also appeared on Busted Open Radio to rank the top moments of his illustrious career.
After listing his top four moments, Jericho left the fifth spot open, saying: “That’s the way I always think of it. ‘What’s your favorite moment of your career?’ Current, now. If I didn’t think it was the best, then why am I doing it? You always want to say that your next match and next show will be your best one. That’s the way you should look at things. We leave the space blank and we’ll see what happens.”
When asked what’s next for him, the former Le Champion replied: “We don’t know, right? We’ll just have to see.” [H/T: Fightful]
Tony Khan hopes to see Chris Jericho back in AEW soon
Chris Jericho hasn’t competed for All Elite Wrestling since April, when he wrapped up his ROH World Championship program with Bandido. His absence sparked numerous rumors about a potential return to WWE, prompting Jericho to address the speculation himself.
Last month, Tony Khan commented on the veteran star’s AEW status, noting that he hoped to see Jericho back in the company soon. Khan also encouraged fans to stay tuned to AEW shows, teasing that a Y2J return could happen very soon.
“Yeah, we absolutely want Chris Jericho back in AEW, and hopefully soon,” Tony said. “He’s been great with us, and he’s been with us since the very first event. The very first AEW World Champion. And Chris is a huge part of the history of AEW and still in great shape, still a great wrestler.”
