El CLON has officially made his AEW debut, and did so in chaotic fashion.
During Wednesday’s episode of AEW Dynamite, Hologram appeared and, in shocking fashion, seemed to cost Orange Cassidy a title. Cassidy was facing Kyle Fletcher in a singles match and looked primed to maybe walk away with the belt. It wasn’t meant to be, though, as Hologram appeared just as Cassidy was going up on the turnbuckle.
Hologram dropped Cassidy right as he was ready to jump. The move stunned Cassidy and allowed Fletcher to recoup. Fletcher then picked up Cassidy and quickly dropped him with a big slam for the win. After the win, Hologram then posed with the rest of the Don Callis Family and stunned the crowd. The man removed his mask, revealing himself to actually be El CLON, wearing a Hologram mask the whole time.
While we don’t know a ton about El CLON, we do know who he is. Arez is the wrestler behind the El CLON gimmick. Best known to domestic fans for his work in MLW between 2021 and 2022, Arez has also worked for Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide, where he is a former AAA World Tag Team Champion and a former Mixed World Tag Team Champion. Additionally, Arez has appeared for TNA/IMPACT Wrestling (due to the partnership with AAA) and has recently worked for GCW.
