John Cena’s WWE retirement tour, which is on the horizon, will come to an end soon. The WWE Universe is already speculating multiple names as Cena’s final opponent. Recently, WWE confirmed that Cena’s final match will take place in Washington, D.C. on December 13, 2025, at Saturday Night’s Main Event.
Amid this, Mark Henry pitches a surprise name as the final opponent of the 17x World Champion. In a conversation with TMZ, Henry believed that Joe Hendry needs to be Cena’s final opponent.
The World Strongest Man stated that if Cena wants to give something back to this business, he must put over someone like Joe Hendry, who can take things forward and have a lengthy career.
“If John Cena wants to give back to the business, you give it to somebody that’s gonna have a career. Just like him, when he came in, and him and Kurt Angle went at it,” Henry said (H/T The Sportster). “Him having an initial interaction with Kurt Angle is what forged the level of where he was gonna be. You’ve gotta give it back, you’ve gotta give the rub.”
Further, he named Joe Hendry as the one, considering that he has already beaten Nic Nemeth and a bunch of talents. However, if he beats John Cena in his retirement run, it will be a huge moment for him.
“Joe Hendry called him out early, and Joe is over as hell. But Joe don’t have no skins on the wall. He beat Nic Nemeth, and he’s beaten a bunch of people at TNA and several at NXT. But that’s not like beating Triple H, that’s not like beating Shawn Michaels. He’s gotta have something that the world is gonna say, ‘Damn, you beat John Cena on his way out, holy sh*t.'”
As of now, fans are sharing their mixed reaction to the words of Mark Henry. Now, it remains to be seen what plans Triple H has instored for Cena’s retirement match.
