MVP Shares Update On In-Ring Future After AEW All Out

MVP opens up about his in-ring return at AEW All Out.

At AEW All Out, MVP made his long-awaited return to in-ring action. He teamed up with The Hurt Syndicate members Bobby Lashley and Shelton Benjamin to face The Demand’s Ricochet and The Gates of Agony.

Unfortunately, MVP’s return didn’t go as expected, as he and The Hurt Syndicate suffered a loss. This marked MVP’s second match in AEW. His first match took place earlier in January on a special edition of Dynamite called the Maximum Carnage Special.

However, he has competed in independent promotions NEW WrestleFest XXVIII and BTW (Cali)/West Coast Pro Battle of the Bay. MVP recently spoke with TMZ Sports about his excitement for returning to the ring.

“I felt great. You know, more than anything, I enjoy reminding people that MVP is not ‘just a manager’. I’m not a manager like any manager you’ve seen in a very, very long time. I’m not your undersized pipsqueak chicken s*** manager because I’m a 250 pound, over 6 feet tall, multi-time champion, Brazilian Black Belt World Champion. I don’t run away because I can fight and I’m in the business of hurting people for money and I never retired.”

He also shared that he has returned to training with plans to stay active in wrestling while preparing for upcoming jiu-jitsu matches. “I just think there’s two things. One, yes, I am back training because I plan to be active in the ring again and I got some big jiu-jitsu matches coming up. So, yeah, my appetite goes up exponentially when I’m training and burning the calories.” [H/T: WrestlingInc]
