It looks like Beth Phoenix is Elite.
Beth made her official AEW on-air debut during the Cope and Christian vs. FTR match. Beth, announced as Beth Copeland, came to the ringside area and took out Stokely Hathaway, who had interfered in the match. Ominous rock music cued up in the arena after Big Stoke got involved again, and her first name flashed on the entrance screen before she made her way to ringside.
After taking Stokely down, Beth picked him up on her shoulders and took him backstage, evening the odds for Cope and Christian. After a few near falls by FTR, Copeland picked up the win after hitting a Spear on Cash Wheeler. Beth came back to the ring after the bell and hugged Cope, who then shook Christian’s hand and gave him a hug.
Mother Wayne interrupted the “family reunion” by wheeling Nick Wayne out in a wheelchair, allowing FTR and Kip Sabian to attack. Cope was handcuffed to the ropes, and he told Beth to go. She tried to defend herself against FTR and got a few shots in, but FTR ended up hitting her with a spike piledriver before leaving.
This is Beth’s first appearance in AEW, and first appearance in pro wrestling since she and Copeland (as Edge) defeated Finn Balor and Rhea Ripley at WWE Elimination Chamber 2023.
