Seth Rollins has been wrestling for more than 20 years. It sounds like he’s given some thought about how he’ll continue to stay involved when his in-ring days are over.
Rollins appeared on Nightcap ahead of WWE WrestlePalooza, where he and Becky Lynch will face CM Punk and AJ Lee. Rollins, who turns 40 next year, mentioned that there are ways to maximize your time in the wrestling business as you get older.
He’s not sure how long he will wrestle, noting that he is unsure he’ll compete in his 50s. He then mentioned that he has a “couple of years” left on his current WWE contract, adding that he’ll see what happens in the future.
“I don’t know if I wanna do it into my 50s. I’ve got a couple years left on my contract with WWE. My daughter’s 4-and-a-half, she’s almost 5. I wouldn’t mind spending some extra time with her in a few years,” Rollins said (H/T WrestleTalk). “So we’ll see what happens. But I love this business, I’ve given my entire life to it, it’s given me a great life.
“I met my wife through this business, I have my daughter because I met my wife through this business. I’m able to provide down at my wrestling school down in Iowa jobs for other people. I’ve built a little mini empire out of this industry,” he added, “so I imagine in some capacity I will stay involved one way or another for as long as I can.”
Rollins is one of the names that Cody Rhodes could see taking over for Triple H in the future, so it seems likely he’ll maintain a connection to WWE for years to come.
