Bully Ray wants Dominik Mysterio to be John Cena’s final WWE opponent.
Cena, who is scheduled to face Brock Lesnar this weekend at WWE Wrestlepalooza, will have only three matches left in his retirement tour. His final WWE match is set for December 13 in Washington, D.C.
Reports have suggested Gunther as a potential final opponent. However, WWE Hall of Famer Bully Ray wants to see Dominik Mysterio take on Cena in his farewell match.
On Busted Open Radio, Bully Ray explained that he thinks a match between Dominik Mysterio and John Cena could generate massive heat. “I like the idea of a match between [Dominik Mysterio] and Cena because Dom has so much heat. My god, Dom getting heat on Cena, Dom even cheating and beating Cena. Oh my god, what that could do for Dom.”
“How could we possibly catch lightning in a bottle for Dominik Mysterio where he could have one match with John and use all that heat for the next year? Have Dom come out last night in an impromptu match between Dominik and John. Dominik actually throws a banana peel in front of John, to which he slips on and Dominik gets the win.
Dominik Mysterio, the current Intercontinental Champion, could be the perfect opponent for John Cena, as the 17-time WWE World Champion has never held the Intercontinental title. However, Bully Ray believes that isn’t necessary since Cena has always been bigger than any championship. He said, “It’s not a big deal to me. I would put Dom over.” [H/T: WrestlingInc]
Back in April, John Cena praised Dominik Mysterio, calling him “the most famous Mysterio in professional wrestling.”
