WWE Hall of Famer Jake Roberts believes Randy Orton is being underused on the roster.
Since returning to WWE in 2023 after back surgery, Orton has mostly been absent from major storylines, despite teasing a to go after Cody Rhodes’ title. Instead, he has suffered multiple losses to current WWE superstars.
On Games Hub, Roberts named several underused WWE stars and highlighted that Randy Orton deserves more opportunities, capable of taking on a bigger role. He said, “There’s several, you know, I don’t stay on top of the product like I should or like I used to anyway. So it’s really unfair for me to even go there, but Randy Orton, he needs more, he could deal with more.”
This echoes WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair’s recent comments, suggesting Orton’s underuse. Flair had said this might stem from backstage issues. Roberts also compared Orton to himself, saying he shares similar mannerisms and presence.
He said, “Oh, Randy Orton is a lot like Jake the Snake. Without a doubt. Just the mannerisms and the way he carries himself. AEW. Not so much. They’ve got a different class of breed down there. They’re smaller guys and they’re all high flyers. Snakes don’t fly!”
