Cody Rhodes is officially back, and has his eyes set on Drew McIntyre.
During the close of tonight’s episode of WWE SmackDown, McIntyre and Randy Orton were going at it. McIntyre won the match, and then went to line up Orton for a brutal kick to the head against the announce table.
Things ended in chaos, though, as the Undisputed WWE Champion interrupted things to make a grand entrance.
Rhodes came running down and wasted no time in going after McIntyre. He laid into him with a bunch of punches, then hit him with a big Cody Cutter. With McIntyre out of the ring, Rhodes then grabbed a mic, and said “the champ is back.” He then challenged McIntyre to a match, telling him he would see Drew at Wrestlepalooza.
WWE Wrestlepalooza is set to take place on September 20, 2025, from the Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, Indiana. The fully updated card for the show is as follows:
- WWE Women’s World Championship: IYO SKY vs. Stephanie Vaquer
- The Usos (Jey Uso and Jimmy Uso) vs. The Vision (Bronson Reed and Bron Breakker)
- CM Punk & AJ Lee vs. Seth Rollins & Becky Lynch
- Cody Rhodes vs. Drew McIntyre
- John Cena vs. Brock Lesnar
