Sami Zayn has officially found his next challenge in his United States Championship Open Challenge.
During Friday’s episode of WWE SmackDown, Zayn defended his title against Rey Fenix in another rendition of the challenge. After the match and later in the show, Carmelo Hayes found Zayn. He said he was calling his next chance next week, and that he got next. Zayn simply told him he better not miss his chance.
Hayes has been itching for a title shot for some time now, and will finally get one against a working champion. For Zayn, it’ll be yet another title defense opportunity for him following his win against Fenix and his match against John Cena last week, which ended in a chaotic appearance from Brock Lesnar.
The match is scheduled to take place on next week’s episode of WWE SmackDown, which is set to occur just ahead of WWE Wrestlepalooza. Other matches planned for the show include The Chelsea Green Party challenging for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships.
