Bryan Danielson names his favorite AEW match.
In his four years in AEW, Bryan Danielson had incredible matches with top stars like Jon Moxley, Hangman Page, Kenny Omega, Will Ospreay, and Kazuchika Okada. Speaking on The Nash & Josh podcast was asked about AEW’s show in Australia.
While he wasn’t there live, he said the wrestlers who performed spoke highly of the fans’ energy. He added that he often doesn’t remember the specific moves, but he always remembers the feeling during his matches.
He related this experience to the AEW show in Brisbane to his match against Swerve Strickland in Wembley Stadium at All In 2024. “So, if you were to ask me, my favorite wrestling match that I ever partook in, was against Swerve Strickland at All In last year in Wembley Stadium it was everything. My family was there in the crowd. It was the crowd’s reaction. It was the size of the crowd. It was the it was the emotion within the crowd. It was it was the feeling I got inside. It was watching Swerve Strickland be just like this badass boss.”
“I think, like wrestling is a lot like, I’m not an actor, so I don’t know. But I feel like if you are playing off of somebody acting, and they’re really giving you a lot emotionally, it’s easier as an actor to play off that. When you’re a professional wrestler and somebody is so vibrant, and they’ve got just energy pouring out of their body.”
“I remember that and feel that, and Swerve in that match was so incredible. So, when I think all of that to say, when people in AEW talk about the show that we did in Brisbane earlier this year, I relate to that as some of the peak moments of my career because of the way it makes you feel when you’re in the ring.”
