Seth Rollins Has Yet Another Reason To Hate Football

Seth Rollins has a love/hate relationship with football. Thanks to the Chicago Bears, it’s mostly a one-sided relationship filled with hate and resentment.

The Bears opened the 2025 NFL season on Monday Night Football, playing the rival Minnesota Vikings at home in Chicago. The Bears had an 11-point lead going into the 4th quarter, and it looked like they were on their way to a week one win.

And then the Bears gave up 21 points and lost the game by a score of 27-24.

Chicago has finished last in their division for the last three years and haven’t made the playoffs since 2020. This usually results in a “traditional” social media post where Rollins declares that he hates football. (It’s happened a lot.)

Thanks to the Bears, he was back at it again Monday night, posting the following on Threads:

Seth Rollins also loves football sometimes

To be fair, Rollins has professed his love for football, too. This includes the most recent post on January 20, 2025. The Bears weren’t even playing that day, let alone sniffing the playoffs, so I guess he was in a jovial mood by default.

Rollins was greeted with more disappointment by a beloved Chicago icon on Monday night, CM Punk. He and his wife, AJ Lee, “forced” Rollins and Becky Lynch into a tag team match at WWE WrestlePalooza on September 20.

Rollins clearly has no love lost for CM Punk, who he couldn’t even get along with if it meant a Bears Super Bowl win. During a recent appearance on Up & Adams, a fan asked Rollins if he would ever team with CM Punk if it meant a Chicago Bears Super Bowl win.

“Would I do it? Would I do it? Oh God, it makes my stomach churn just to think about it,” Rollins said. “For one Super Bowl? Oh God… I don’t think I could do it, I don’t think I could stand next to him. I really don’t think I could do it, I just don’t think I could it. I’d just suffer in misery every season. Get me to the NFC title game. I don’t think I could do it. I have to say no. Sorry, I couldn’t do it. It hurts me inside too much.”
