Trick Williams will defend his TNA World Title at Bound for Glory 2025.
On this week’s TNA Impact, Director of Authority Santino Marella announced that Trick Williams will face Mike Santana for the TNA World Championship at Bound for Glory. Marella admitted he dislikes Williams as champion but made the match official as part of his duties.
After the announcement, the challenger, Mike Santana came out and promised to win the championship at TNA Bound for Glory. He criticized the champion for not defending his title and warned that he would track him down in WWE NXT if he refused to show up in TNA.
The TNA World Champion later responded on X, formerly known as Twitter, with a video while holding the title. Williams explained that fans kept bringing up Santana, but he insisted he doesn’t owe TNA anything after already giving them record fans attendance, TV deals, and big matches.
Trick Williams added that since fans kept begging, he might think about defending, but he dismissed Minnesota city saying nothing good comes from city, including the state’s football team Vikings.
Williams won the TNA World Championship by defeating Joe Hendry at WWE NXT Battleground on May 25. Since then, he has defended the title against Hendry, Elijah, Moose, and Mike Santana.
All of them tried but failed to bring the championship back to TNA. With Mike Santana now gaining momentum, it will be interesting to see if he can finally return the gold to TNA at Bound for Glory 2025.
This isn’t the only match set for Bound For Glory, as TNA also crowned another number one contender on the show. However, fans might have known the outcome prior to Thursday’s show, as TNA accidentally leaked the result before the live broadcast.
