Bishop Dyer doesn’t want Ricky Saints to win the WWE NXT Title just yet.
On WWE NXT last week, Ricky Saints and Josh Briggs confronted the champion Oba Femi. Their argument led General Manager Ava to book a match later in the night. The winner would earn an NXT Championship opportunity against Femi at NXT No Mercy.
Ricky Saints won that match, securing his title shot. On Busted Open Radio, Bishop Dyer gave his take on Ricky Saints’ promo. He said he likes what Saints brings, praising his look and how believable he sounds on the mic.
“I love what [Saints] brings to the table. I think he has a great look. I believe everything he says. When we do that promo to open the show and he starts talking, the veins start popping in his neck, I don’t know if it’s just me, but the crowd last night in that show was kind of funky. That was some of the most quiet I’ve heard that in NXT crowd before in between stuff, and not in a negative way.”
He thinks Saints is ready to be champion, but he doesn’t want him to win just yet. Instead, he wants Saints to chase the title for a while. “I think there was a lot of things that they were really watching and listening. Is he ready to hold the title? I think he is, for sure, but I don’t want to see him get it yet. I would like to see him chase for a little while. I would like to see maybe a three-match run between him and Oba. I think that would be really entertaining.” [H/T: WrestlingInc]
While Saints and Femi will face off at WWE NXT No Mercy this week, they will first team up with Hank & Tank to take on Darkstate this Wednesday on NXT.
