Several In WWE Pushing To Move NXT Duo To SmackDown

Could SmackDown be getting a little more Canadian flair? The thought is at least being considered by some inside WWE.

According to WrestleVotes, several people within WWE would like to see Chelsea Green and Ethan Page working together on SmackDown. Green, the inaugural WWE United States Women’s Champion, and Page, the current NXT North American Champion, were recently paired together on NXT television.

The report notes that “several” within WWE hope to see the duo together on SmackDown. The report also praised their recent chemistry with each other on NXT. It was also noted that some believe the pair getting called up would “quickly establish Page as a key player” in the company.

The alliance between Chelsea Green and Ethan Page began last month, when they attempted to broker a peace treaty between themselves and the United States’ Tyra Mae Steele and Tavion Heights. That was unsuccessful, and it resulted in a brawl, and a mixed tag team match at NXT Heatwave. Page and Green defeated Heights and Steele at Heatwave, and continued their alliance on this week’s episode of NXT.

There, Steele beat Green’s Secret Hervice partner, Alba Fyre, but Green attacked Steele after the match. Page joined in and beat down Heights before draping a Canadian flag over him.

During a recent interview, NXT’s Shawn Michaels called Page and Green two of the most enjoyable people to watch on television. Michaels also made a case for NXT being the most exciting two-hour wrestling television show airing right now.
