Kevin Owens Tells Fans To Stop Panicking Over His Recent Appearance

Kevin Owens is still fat, guys.

Owens appeared at NASCAR’s 2025 Coke Zero Sugar 400 event in Daytona, Florida, over the weekend. There, Owens served as the grand marshal for the race, kicking things off by giving the famous command of “Gentlemen, start your engines!” Owens was a late substitution for for Rey Mysterio, as Daytona International Speedway announced the change ahead of the race.

Owens appeared to have fun in his new role, but apparently, some fans were worried about the WWE Superstar’s “new look.” As seen in videos circulating from the event, Owens appeared to be a bit slimmer compared to his in-ring physique.

Kevin Owens says not to worry, he’s still fat

However, the former WWE Universal Champion said fans shouldn’t worry about him. Owens said he’s still fat, and everyone needs to just calm down.

“Guys, stop panicking! I’m still fat,” Owens wrote on Twitter/X. “Everyone needs to calm down.”

Owens clearly had some fun with the playful response to a topic he’s probably used to addressing by now. Earlier this year, Owens told Chris Van Vliet that he hears this same criticism all of the time. However, he’s comfortable with how he looks, and thinks those critics are more bothered by his appearance than he is.

After the race, Kevin Owens shared an update on his in-ring status after having neck fusion surgery. Owens has been sidelined with a neck injury since April, when he announced that he was taking time off to recover from the injury. Owens’ WrestleMania 41 match with Randy Orton was cancelled, and Owens is expected to miss a significant amount of time to recover.

Ahead of the surgery, Owens said that he believes his neck injury happened in January. He told Barstool Sports’ Robbie Fox that he had a clean MRI scan in December, but thinks the injury came in a match the following month.
