WWE Hall of Famer Speaks on Possibility of Chris Jericho’s Return

AEW star Chris Jericho has sparked major speculation about a possible WWE return.

Jericho is currently on a tour with his band, Fozzy, and he has not appeared on AEW programming since April. Over the weekend, fans noticed he liked an Instagram post suggesting his AEW contract ends later this year and that he could be open to returning to WWE after seven years.

WWE Hall of Famer Booker T addressed the buzz about Chris Jericho possibly returning to the company. Speaking on his Hall of Fame podcast, he said Jericho would always fit in with the company, comparing him to stars like Edge, now goes by Adam Copeland, and Christian, who can come back at any time.

“People were talking about it, people talking about Jericho coming back, you know. Does Jericho fit into WWE right now? Yeah, I mean, look, to me, it’s like Chris Jericho he’s like Edge or Christian. They’ll always fit in. He’s an original, he’s an OG, you know what I mean? So yeah, I could definitely see Chris Jericho coming back.” [H/T: ewrestlingnews]

Jericho last wrestled at AEW Dynasty on April 6, where he lost the Ring of Honor World Championship to Bandido. Just days later, on the April 9 episode of AEW Dynamite, he walked out on his Learning Tree partners, Big Bill and Bryan Keith.

Latest on WWE’s interest in bringing back Chris Jericho

On the latest episode of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer discussed Chris Jericho’s status. He noted that there has been plenty of talk about WWE possibly bringing him back.

“Jericho is actually a really big story. His (AEW) contract is up at the end of the year, or late in the year, and there’s certainly been lots and lots of talk about WWE. I know from a WWE standpoint that there is lots of talk there about Jericho. People speculating Royal Rumble. Nobody has officially said anything, nor will anyone officially say anything.”

It will be interesting to see what happens next regarding the possibility of Chris Jericho returning to WWE after seven years. Only time will tell.
