Since then, Jericho has remained absent from AEW programming. Reports revealed that Chris Jericho took time off from AEW to focus on an upcoming tour with his band, Fozzy. Before stepping away, Jericho admitted in an interview that he would be open to a WWE return.

An Instagram account j.m.playground claimed his AEW contract ends in December 2025 and suggested he could consider rejoining WWE depending on the situation. Jericho liked the post, which has sparked rumors about his status with AEW.
