WWE SmackDown Results:

Solo Season

The United States Champion, Solo Sikoa, and the MFTs are in the building, according to Sikoa. Sikoa reminds everyone that they run SmackDown. The crowd boos as Sikoa notes that Sami Zayn showed up on SmackDown, so they showed up on Raw and stomped him out. Sikoa quips that they stomped out Zayn, Jimmy Uso, and Jacob Fatu. Sami Zayn’s music hits, and he walks out on the stage. Zayn asks to speak to Sikoa alone. The MFTs head outside the ring. Zayn notes that if he had defeated Rusev last week, he would have gotten a world title shot. Zayn has been so focused on becoming a world champion that he hasn’t been able to focus on any other goals. Because of that.

Zayn thanks Sikoa for freeing him so he could. There is one other championship Zayn has never held: the United States Championship. Sikoa tells Zayn he doesn’t even go to SmackDown so he can use his big @$$ eyes to look at the championship, but he will never have it. Zayn announces he’s officially on SmackDown now. Sikoa took something from Zayn, so now Zayn is going to take something away from Sikoa. The MFTs attack Zayn. Jimmy Uso tries to make the save, but is overpowered. Jacob Fatu hits the ring. Fatu, Zayn, and Jimmy clear the ring. SmackDown GM Nick Aldis walks out and announces a six-man tag team match between Fatu, Zayn, and Jimmy against the MFTs.

Grade: B-

Solid opening segment. Jimmy constantly tries to make saves, but it never ends well for him. WWE needs to give Jimmy something to do that doesn’t involve a family member.

Alexa Bliss w/Charlotte Flair vs. Piper Niven w/Chelsea Green and Alba Fyre

Niven sends Bliss into the corner and lays in a few stomps. Bliss tries to fire back but gets clobbered by Niven. Fyre and Green try to go after Lilly in Bliss’ corner, but Flair backs them off. Niven picks up Bliss, but Bliss counters with a sleeper. Niven tosses Bliss to the mat. Bossman Slam by Niven. After the break, Bliss fires up and lands a series of sentons followed by a DDT. Green and Fyre try to interfere, but Bliss rolls up Niven for the win.

Winner- Alexa Bliss

After the match, Green, Niven, and Fyre leave Flair and Bliss laid out.

Grade: B

This one was fun and quick. Seems we are heading towards a Flair/Bliss feud with the Secret Hervice, which could be fun.

The Miz & Carmelo Hayes vs. Fraxiom

Hayes tells Miz to start the match. Axiom and Frazer take turns running circles around Miz. Miz tags in Hayes. Hayes and Miz get sent over the top. Frazer and Axiom land multiple dives. The Wyatt Sicks are watching from the crowd. After the break, Hayes surprises Axiom with a superkick. Axiom responds with a rana. Short powerbomb by Hayes for a two count.

After trading big moves, Hayes tries a springboard, but Frazer cuts Hayes off and lands an inverted Spanish fly. Hayes kicks out. Axiom and Frazer hit their finish on Hayes. Miz breaks up the pin with a double stomp to Frazer into a tornado DDT on Axiom. Frazer and Axiom set a double Spanish fly off the top. Miz breaks it up and DDTs Axiom on the apron. Frazer tries a superplex, but Hayes reverses it into a top rope cutter! Hayes goes up top for Nothing but Net. Miz tags himself in and drops Frazer with the Skull Crushing Finale for the win.

Winners- The Miz and Carmelo Hayes

Hayes looks pissed. Miz celebrates.

Grade: B

Good match. The crowd was hot for this one. Boston loves a hometown kid, and Hayes was the people’s choice here. Miz stealing the pin here gets us one step closer to Miz and Hayes finally breaking up. We can’t get to that point soon enough.

The Scottish Psychopath Returns

Drew McIntyre notes that people have been asking him all week why he did what he did to Cody Rhodes. Why did McIntyre Claymore him into the commentary desk? McIntyre throws to a replay of him committing attempted murder last week. McIntyre asks Joe Tessitore where the medical update on Rhodes is. Tessitore says he doesn’t have one. McIntyre says WWE brass is hiding what’s wrong with their golden boy. McIntyre rants on and on about how he didn’t attack Rhodes last week; Rhodes attacked McIntyre. The crowd boos. McIntyre proclaims that if you provoke him, he’s the real nightmare.

Grade: C+

McIntyre is great on the mic, but this wasn’t anything to write home about.

#DIY w/Candice LeRae vs. The Street Profits w/B-Fab

Ciampa and Gargano double-team Ford. Ford flips over Ciampa to tag in Dawkins. Dawkins takes out Gargano and Ciampa. Ciampa rolls out. Dawkins sets up a pounce. Ciampa hides behind Candice LeRae. In the confusion, Ciampa floors Dawkins with a knee strike. #DIY celebrates on the apron. After the break, Ciampa and Gargano are working over Dawkins. Dawkins manages to tag in Ford. Ford lands a high crossbody and a standing moonsault.

Dawkins pounces Ciampa into a suplex from Ford. Ford and Dawkins set up the Street Sweeper. Outside the ring, LeRae tosses B-Fab into the ring steps. In the confusion, Ciampa and Gargano drops Ford with a Fairytale Ending/superkick combo. Dawkins breaks up the pin. While the referee is distracted, LeRae sends Ford flying off the apron with a rana. Ford lands on top of Dawkins. LeRae tries to get involved again. B-Fab boots LeRae’s face in. Ford and Dawkins hit their finish for the win.

Winners- The Street Profits

Grade: B

Fun match, good to see the Street Profits get the win. Not sure if the win here actually means anything. The SmackDown tag division is a complete mess right now. At this point, they may want to put up a graphic each week so we know who the current number one contender is. Can’t keep any of this straight.

Jacob Fatu, Sami Zayn, and Jimmy Uso vs. MFTs.

Sikoa and the MFTs take control early, isolating Zayn after a big boot from Tala Tonga. Zayn manages to tag in Fatu. Fatu clears the ring. Fatu rains down headbuts to Tonga Loa. Jimmy lands a dive. Fatu crushes Loa with a pop-up Samoan drop. After a distraction from Sikoa, Fatu tries a swanton, but Loa gets his knees up. Fatu begrudgingly agrees. Everyone lands a dive. Zayn blocks the Samoan Spike from Sikoa. Exploder into the corner by Zayn. Zayn lands the Hellva Kick to Sikoa for the win.

Good TV match. This writer could get used to getting main events that actually have finishes and no real run-ins.

This event is ongoing. This information will be updated as the event progresses.
