Karrion Kross wishes his final WWE SummerSlam match had been bigger and more dramatic for the fans.
During his recent appearance on The Ariel Helwani Show, he reflected on working with Sami Zayn and said he would have liked a more spectacular finish. He said, “Very happy to be working with Sami. If I could have done it differently, I would have wanted to have blown it off bigger. Story format-wise, the heel is terrorizing the babyface for an extended period of time. The babyface has to get his come-ups at some point. I know a lot of people wanted to see Kross win the match. If we’re following basic psychology here, the babyface wins, okay, no problem.”
Despite accepting the outcome, Kross said he wished for a more extreme moment, something fans would remember. “I don’t know, just something crazier. Something like a spectacle moment. We had a moment at the end when he’s got the pipe. It was that Luke Skywalker moment. Is he going to go to the dark side?”
Kross imagined a high-risk spot to make the finish more memorable, saying, “Maybe we climb somewhere really high, and maybe I slip so we protect his integrity as a good guy. I slip and fall off something really high. I don’t know. I would have liked to have gone bigger.”
Karrion Kross was open to killing off his character in wild end
When asked if he was open to killing off the Karrion Kross character, he replied, “Sure. Why not? These people paid good money for those tickets at SummerSlam. Why not give them something really like, ‘Oh my God, do you remember that?’
“I would have liked to have done the match in a bigger fashion if I was allowed to.” He revealed that as he was leaving the ring and walking to the back, he had a strong sense it might be his last time competing there. “I had a gut feeling, I couldn’t tell you why, but I had a gut feeling,” he admitted.
Karrion Kross explains why he didn’t say goodbye to fans after the match
Karrion Kross revealed that a friend encouraged him to do something for the fans after his match. However, Kross decided against it. “I didn’t want to be unprofessional. He made it clear that the match was designed for Sami Zayn.
Instead of seeking the spotlight, Kross focused on fulfilling his role in the story. “Let’s not upset the audience by doing some sort of… whatever in the middle of the show. Just go out there and do the job they’re asking you to do.”
