R-Truth Comments On Potential Return To TNA

The sky’s the limit for Ron Killings.

R-Truth started working for TNA in 2002. This came after he’d been released by WWE for the first time in 2001. Ron Killings, or Ron “The Truth” Killings, quickly made an impact in the company, defeating Ken Shamrock for the NWA World Heavyweight Championship on August 7, 2002.

Killings is recognized as the first Black NWA World Heavyweight Champion in the title’s storied history. At that time, he was also just the fourth Black wrestler in pro wrestling history to win a major World Heavyweight title. In addition to his historic title reign, Killings also spent time in the 3 Live Kru stable along with “Road Dogg” Brian James and Konnan before heading back to WWE in 2008.

That tenure lasted nearly 17 years, as R-Truth was shockingly released by WWE earlier this year. However, it was short-lived, as he returned after receiving a huge amount of support from his fans and his peers. After his surprising return at Money In The Bank, Truth showed off a new persona and said that “Ron Killings” was back in WWE.

Would R-Truth return to TNA?

Could the same happen with Killings returning to TNA, whether it’s for an extended run or a one-off? He’s certainly not saying no to it.

“The sky’s the limit. It’s professional wrestling, and I’m driving now. I kinda do what I want to do,” Truth replied during a media scrum with WrestleZone at SummerSlam weekend.

The ongoing partnership between WWE and TNA certainly opens the door for it to happen. This year has seen many NXT and TNA stars crossover between their respective shows, offering an exciting twist for viewers. NXT’s Trick Williams is the current TNA World Champion, and NXT Women’s Champion Jacy Jayne is also the TNA Knockouts Champion.

This relationship isn’t just restricted to NXT talent, either. Fans saw AJ Styles return to TNA at Slammiversary last month. Styles put over new X Division Champion Leon Slater and teased fans with a remark about “one more match” in a TNA ring. Could Truth be the next WWE star to cross the line? We’ll have to wait and see, but as Truth said, he’s the one driving now.
