Karrion Kross Clarifies Current WWE Contract Status

Karrion Kross‘s status has been a hot topic in recent months, as his and his wife Scarlett’s contracts are reported to expire this weekend.

On Thursday, Kross spoke with The Angle podcast’s Joey Karni to promote his new book, Life Is Fighting. During the interview, Karni mentioned the rumors on social media about Kross’s status. Kross said that while he hopes to be back on WWE RAW, he cautioned that some of the things fans are reading online “today” are not true.

Kross did not specify what things he was talking about, but he was likely referring to a new report from F4WOnline.com’s Dave Meltzer, who claimed that he heard a contract offer was made to Kross since the beginning of the week.

Since then, another report from Fightful (via Fightful Select) revealed that Karrion Kross and Scarlett’s contracts were set to expire this weekend, on August 10. Fightful also wrote that they can’t confirm a deal has been offered. However, the outlet noted that many people close to WWE and Kross have “gone silent” about the situation. This normally signifies that some movement has been made.

Karrion Kross teases answers “very soon”

Now, another Karrion Kross interview with the Two Man Power Trip of Wrestling podcast has surfaced online. There, Kross confirms that he’s still under WWE contract as of Thursday, when this interview was also recorded.

“I’m still under (WWE) contract. I saw a bunch of stuff online today,” Kross explained. “I don’t know where it’s coming from. And I don’t care to speak to any of it. But all I can tell you is the only way you’re gonna get the real story is when you get it from me. That’s all I can tell you.”

Kross said that he can’t “speak to the legitimacy” of anything being recently reported, but teased that fans would know exactly what’s going on “very soon.”

Karrion Kross and Scarlett last appeared in WWE at SummerSlam, where Kross lost to Sami Zayn. The match carried a stipulation that said if Kross lost, he would admit that Zayn was right. Kross and Zayn were expected to have some kind of follow-up on RAW. However, Kross did not appear on this week’s show.

So Karrion Kross says he’s still under contract with WWE… but how long will that be true?
