WWE Superstar Jade Cargill stayed strong during her injury break because she wanted to prove herself and give her best to the fans.
Back in November 2024, Cargill was written off SmackDown after a mysterious on-screen attack. Reports later revealed that WWE used the segment to cover up a real injury she had. It was reportedly done to cover a real, but undisclosed, injury that required time to heal.
Speaking on Busted Open Radio, Cargill opened up about how tough that time was. Many fans assumed she was training while off TV but, she was dealing with a serious injury.
“I think all of us go through periods where it does get to you, you know. When I was out, you know, everybody thinks I was training, and I was out with an injury. Like, I was legit out with an injury. And, I was crying so much because I missed it. Like, I wanted to go back out there, but I couldn’t because I just couldn’t.
“And fans don’t understand, like, and I’m trying to get back there for them. Like, I’m like, I want to get back there, not just for myself, but for them. Like, I want to prove to them what I can do. What I can do, I can do. So it was getting to me at that period. But, you know, I listened to so many legends, and I remember I was talking to DDP, and, I read his book.”
Jade Cargill opens up about struggles during injury absence
Jade Cargill admitted that the pressure did affect her during that time, even though she usually considers herself mentally strong.
“I’ve lived four lives. I got a baby girl at home. I’ve seen my husband deal with all kinds of stuff on the baseball field, people throwing all kinds of slurs at him. I can handle it all. But there’s only so much you can take.”
“At the end of the day, we’re all humans, you know, and you got to fight through it. And you have to know, first of all, the crown wears heavy. It is what it is. You got to go out there and just push through. So, um, I’ve got to a point where it’s kind of like, it is what it is. Like, I’m going to go out there and do the best I can do. And if they don’t like it, fine. But I know I’m doing the best.”
