WWE’s Bianca Belair Gives Update On When She Might Return From Injury

Bianca Belair provides an update on her injury.

At WWE Evolution, Bianca Belair returned to the squared circle to officiate a No Holds Barred Match between Naomi and Jade Cargill, with the latter emerging victorious. As noted by CBS Sports‘ Shakiel Mahjouri, however, Belair’s appearance there isn’t necessarily indicative of an imminent comeback as an in-ring performer.

During a critically acclaimed triple threat match at WrestleMania 41, Belair broke multiple fingers, which typically take a few weeks to heal. In Belair’s case, one finger fractured at the joint, leaving her sidelined for longer.

“I broke it in three places and the joint. It healed, but it won’t bend,” Belair told the outlet. “You can’t wrestle with a straight finger because it’ll break again… I can’t even sew right now. I can’t even make gear.”

As of now, Belair is uncertain if surgery may soon be necessary for her injury. Still, an appearance at WWE SummerSlam may still be possible. “We’re on the tail end of this healing process, so we might have time,” Belair said. “But you never know. Crazy things happen.”

WWE SummerSlam will emanate from MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey on Saturday August 2 and Sunday, August 3. Following Evolution, Cargill will challenge Tiffany Stratton for the WWE Women’s Championship. Meanwhile, Naomi will defend her newly-won Women’s World Championship against IYO SKY and Rhea Ripley. Naomi claimed the title by cashing in her Money in the Bank briefcase in the Evolution main event.
