AEW’s MJF Has High Praise For WWE Superstar

While in different wrestling companies, Maxwell Jacob Friedman still has a lot of love for Becky Lynch.

Later this week, fans can see both MJF and Lynch in Netflix’s Happy Gilmore 2, a sequel of the original 1996 sports comedy film. Separately, MJF and Lynch both appeared on television this week, with Lynch notably confronting her SummerSlam opponent Lyra Valkyria on WWE Raw. On Busted Open Radio, MJF revealed that, much like Lynch, he too is not a fan of Valkyria

“I’m a big fan of Becky Lynch. Hate that Lyra (Valkyria) girl,” MJF said (H/T to Fightful for the transcription). “I agree with Becky. [Lyra] stinks. I’m a staunch Becky Lynch supporter. If you have an issue with Becky Lynch, I have an issue with you. Not into this Lyra chick. Something is up with her. She’s probably a bad person.”

According to Lynch, Valkyria is “greedy” for “bogarting” opportunities to the Women’s Intercontinental Championship, while also pursuing the Women’s Tag Team Championships this week. As such, Lynch later called for a special stipulation for their SummerSlam title match: if Valkyria loses, she can never challenge for the Women’s IC Title again. Valkyria accepted, with the added term of their match having no countouts and no disqualifications.

Outside of the WWE realm, Lynch will make a cameo in Happy Gilmore 2, reportedly as a golfer. Meanwhile, MJF, a former AEW World Champion, will star as one of Happy Gilmore’s sons, Gordie. The role of Happy, of course, will be reprised by Adam Sandler. Happy Gilmore 2 debuts on Netflix on July 25.
