Report: Jelly Roll To Work With Surprising WWE Name Ahead Of SummerSlam

It sounds like Jelly Roll will be bringing more star power to the ring at SummerSlam.

The singer/actor Jelly Roll is advertised for Friday’s episode of WWE SmackDown at the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville. According to a new report from PWInsider.com, this appearance will lead to Jelly Roll making his in-ring debut at SummerSlam.

The outlet reported that the “Son of a Sinner” singer has been training to make his WWE in-ring debut. It’s expected that he will align with a “top babyface” ahead of SummerSlam.

Now, the outlet posted an update, revealing more details about what exactly he will be doing at SummerSlam. According to PWInsider, Logan Paul will be involved in a storyline with Jelly Roll leading into SummerSlam.

As it currently stands, Logan Paul is a heel in WWE, so it’s likely that he would be an adversary to Jelly Roll. Based on speculation about expecting him to “align with a ‘top babyface” ahead of the event, it’s possible that this will become a tag team match. When PWInsider asked if the top babyface was Cody Rhodes, they were told no. Rhodes is already scheduled to challenge John Cena for the Undisputed WWE Championship at WWE SummerSlam, which takes place on August 2 and 3 at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey.

Jelly Roll has unfinished business in WWE

The 2025 event would mark the second consecutive appearance at SummerSlam for Jelly Roll. He was featured at the 2024 event, which ended with him chokeslamming Austin Theory. He was advertised to perform “God Bless America” at the event. Additionally, he participated in the surprise in-ring segment that also featured R-Truth and The Miz attacking Theory.

Last year, the singer told Pat McAfee that his noticeable weight loss was for a good reason. The singer said he was trying to get fit and had unfinished business in the ring.

“Yeah, we might just get rid of the roll and just be ‘Jelly’. We’ll let it jiggle just a little bit. We might get rid of the rolls and keep the jelly. I think I’d still be sexy,” he said. “Yeah, man, I mean I’ve got to [be fit] by next year dude,” he said. “Because I’ve got unfinished business in the WWE.”
