Ricochet Calls Out WWE’s Latest Attempt To Counterprogram AEW Events

Ricochet called out WWE for trying to compete directly with AEW by running shows on the same days.

This weekend, AEW will host All In: Texas on July 12, 2025. At the same time, WWE will host NXT Great American Bash and Saturday Night’s Main Event, directly counterprogramming AEW’s biggest weekend of the year. The next day, WWE will also follow up with Evolution 2.

WrestleVotes reported that WWE and TKO plan to keep running shows at the same time as AEW events to shift fan attention and control the online buzz. The idea is to make sure WWE closes the night, so fans talk more about them than AEW once all the shows end.

The reports states, “This is definitely something WWE wants to do where hey, if NXT is on the road and booking for arenas, they want to do it somewhere where they’re gonna have the last word of the night. AEW’s gonna be having ‘ALL IN’ in the afternoon and WWE’s gonna be coming in there after with SNME, so at the end of the day you’re not just talking about the fall out from AEW, you’re talking about what WWE is doing aswell.”

“Controlling the narrative and momentum online — So there’s no coincidence, there’s definitely a directive coming from WWE with the behest of TKO behind, they’re all for it. They want to do more of these things.”

After seeing the report, Ricochet went on Twitter/X, formerly known as Twitter and made it clear he wasn’t happy with WWE’s strategy.

“Bitch move,” Ricochet wrote.

Additionally, Bryan Alvarez of F4WOnline.com have also reported a few days ago that WWE has more plans to directly compete with AEW shows. That looks to continue as soon as next month, as another WWE event will reportedly go head-to-head with a major AEW pay-per-view.
