WWE is expected to hold the 2025 Draft at an unusual timeframe, breaking from the usual post-WrestleMania tradition.
Traditionally, WWE has held its Draft shortly after WrestleMania or in the spring. However, that has not been the case this past year. Instead, WWE introduced a “transfer window” between RAW, SmackDown, and NXT in late 2024 with stars like Logan Paul and The Wyatt Sicks moving across brands.
Over the past few months, several talents have appeared on both RAW and SmackDown, and even on NXT. Some NXT stars have already made their way to the main roster like Roxanne Perez, Stephanie Vaquer and Guilia.
When will the 2025 WWE Draft take place?
According to Bodyslam.net’s via Corey Hays, current plans suggest the company will align the Draft with the season premiere episodes in September.
“The last I heard about the WWE draft was that they have been considering doing it post SummerSlam, most likely as a tie in to the season premiere episodes in September. With the recent call ups, there hasn’t been a real reason to now reshuffle the rosters as storylines are still ongoing, so whether this means post SummerSlam PLE, or post Clash in Paris PLE – is yet to be determined. But in time for season premiere episodes? I would confidently say yes.”
Most WWE Drafts have taken place in the first half of the year. However, there have been some exceptions. The 2019, 2020 and 2021 Drafts were hosted in October. The other exception saw the 2016 Draft take place in July.
