WWE unveiled Evolution 2 earlier this month, and now we have some idea of the internal reactions to the show.
According to a report from Fightful Select’s Sean Ross Sapp, the women’s roster mostly all was surprised at the show’s announcement. The report notes that WWE didn’t let a ton of superstars know before announcing. While it was rumored for some time, the confirmation still came as a surprise, and reportedly earned some mixed reactions.
The report mentions that the talent seems worried about the staging of the show. Specifically, the “curtain call” element that was included in the first show. According to the report, talent behind-the-scenes is worried it will happen again, as it’s something they don’t believe WWE would include for a men’s-only show. Furthermore, worry that the show underperforming could lead to WWE using it as justification for not having the show again.
Sapp also spoke with an unnamed top talent in WWE. This one believed the company already had too many PLEs as is. Another veteran in the company was excited, though, and hopes it lets WWE showcase some of the more underrated women in the company. It’s currently unknown whether or not legends will be on hand for the show. However, the veteran also expressed hope that they will be asked to be a part of the show.
