Concern for Adam Cole grew this week.
Wrestling fans have seen some scary bumps this week, including a piledriver that seemingly left Chad Gable with an abrasion above his eye on WWE Raw. Then on AEW Dynamite, Kyle Fletcher powerbombed Adam Cole along the edge of the ring apron, with the TNT Champion clutching his head right after impact. That, plus the sound of the collision, has now set off more alarm bells online.
Given his recent history with concussions, one of which left him out of action for an extended time, some fans feared that he might have sustained another one.

Elsewhere, one slowed down the footage of Cole’s bump, revealing that his head seemed to just miss the ring apron.

Another provided a screenshot of Cole’s right arm hitting the ring upon his descent, which could explain the thud that accompanied the bump, as opposed to his head. Still, many feel it was a close call, with a great potential for things to go wrong.
Adam Cole’s right arm hit the ring not his head, but I do agree that this was a very close call that could have been very bad but thank god as of right now everything it’s fine. pic.twitter.com/9QrYJF8qN9

As of now, Cole’s official status following the powerbomb spot is unknown. Despite it, he went on to retain his TNT Championship by disqualification after Josh Alexander interfered and struck Cole. When Fletcher and Alexander continued beating him down in the aftermath, Brody King rushed down to the ring with a chair to even the odds. King went on to defeat Alexander in a singles match shortly thereafter.
